Diplomová práca má analyticko–aplikačný charakter. Je zameraná na štátne dlhopisy v Slovenskej republike po vstupe do eurozóny. Východiskom pre našu prácu sú teoretické poznatky, týkajúce sa danej problematiky finančných trhov, konkrétne dlhopisov, štátnych dlhopisov, cenných papierov ako aj teoretické poznatky v oblasti finančného, kapitálového a peňažného trhu.
