Sustainable Automotive Industry in Czechia and Germany: Challenges and Opportunities for Electromobility

Abstract:

The thesis seeks to identify the chances and challenges for electromobility in the Czech Republic and Germany. The aim of this thesis is therefore to analyze its strengths and weaknesses as well as, from the customer's standpoint, to identify its potential. The theoretical part deals with the impact of electric mobility on the environment, with European environmental policy, origins of electric vehicles, implementation of marketing strategies and latest technological developments in the field. Furthermore, it provides a closer look at the market situation, infrastructure, subsidies and a number of myths surrounding electric vehicles. The practical part is primarily focused on the market analysis and on the comparison of selected German and Czech car brands based upon car sales statistics, vehicle performance and vehicle purchase price. Complementary to the findings of the thesis are the final comments made by experts in the field.

Abstract:

Předmětem této práce je identifikovat šance a výzvy elektromobility v České republice a v Německu. Cílí tak na analýzu předností a slabin elektromobility, stejně tak se snaží identifikovat její potenciál z pohledu zákazníka. Teoretická část pojednává o vlivu elektromobility na životní prostředí, evropské environmentální politice, historii elektrických vozidel, zavádění marketingových strategií a aktuálním technologickém vývoji v tomto odvětví. Nabízí také bližší pohled na situaci na trhu, infrastrukturu, dotace a různé mýty, které elektrická vozidla obklopují. Praktická část je zaměřena především na analýzu trhu a srovnání vybraných značek německých a českých výrobců v závislosti na statistikách prodejů, jízdních vlastnostech a pořizovací ceně vozidel. Závěry práce jsou rovněž doplněny o komentář expertů.
