The imperfect and its peculiar use in the journalistic style

Abstract:

The main objective of this bachelor's thesis was to deal with the imperfect in Spanish based on the work with diverse sources and to find out its peculiar use in the journalistic style. In the theoretical part, we looked at the general characteristic of the imperfect, its conjugation, and the difference between the imperfect and the past simple tense. Also, we looked at its diverse possibilities of application. We found out which one of these different uses appears in the journalistic style-the imperfect narrative. The practical part focuses on 47 extracts of individual news articles. We summarized the content of each news article and then we extracted the part of the text where the imperfect narrative appears. Further, we determined the part of each article from where the extract comes from and we determined the imperfect which conforms to our study. In conclusion, we analysed, commented and quantified the results discovered using the tables and the graphs.

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce bylo pojednat o imperfektu ve španělštině na základě práce s různými zdroji a zjistit, jaké je jeho zvláštní použití v publicistickém stylu. V teoretické části jsme se podívali na obecnou charakteristiku imperfekta a na časování pravidelných a nepravidelných sloves. Zaměřili jsme se také na rozdíl mezi imperfektem a minulým časem dokonavým. Popsali jsme si rozmanité možnosti využití imperfekta a zjistili jsme, které z těchto mnoha využití se vyskytuje v publicistickém stylu. Jednalo se o narativní imperfektum. V praktické části jsme se zabývali 47 výňatky jednotlivých zpráv. Shrnuli jsme si celkový obsah každé zprávy a následně jsme z každé zprávy vyňali část textu, ve které se nachází použití narativního imperfekta. Dále jsme určili, ze které části zprávy výňatek pochází a označili jsme imperfektum odpovídající našemu výzkumu. Na závěr jsme zanalyzovali, okomentovali a vyčíslili zjištěné výsledky pomocí tabulek a grafů.
