Cílem této diplomové práce je pokus o vymezení žánrů „mythic fiction“ a „mythpunk“. První část práce se soustředí na pojmy mýtus, pohádka a folklór a na vztahy mezi těmito pojmy. Rovněž se zabývá otázkou významu mýtu pro společnost a jeho vztahem k literatuře. Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is an attempt to define two unstable genres of modern Anglo-American literature: „mythic fiction“ and „mythpunk“. The first part focuses on concepts of myth, folklore and fairytale, relations between these terms and their definitions. These chapters also analyze the importance of myth for modern society.
