This Bachelor's thesis observes creation, structure and activities of the Federal Reserve System. The emphasis is put on description of every decision regarding monetary policy which was taken by the central bank of United States of America since Ben Bernanke became chairman in 2006. Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá vznikom, štruktúrou a činnosťami Federálneho rezervného systému. Dôraz je kladený predovšetkým na opísanie každého rozhodnutia v oblasti monetárnej politiky ku ktorému pristúpila americká centrálna banka od roku 2006, kedy sa na jej čelo dostal Ben Bernanke.
