Text-Picture Relation and Text Comprehensibility on the Example of Textbooks

Abstract:

This thesis is about relationship between picture and text. There also arise a thought if a picture can help to better understand to a text, or what influence can have a picture on a text. These issues will be researched on texts from two textbooks while applying methods. There will be comparison of the relationship between image and text using a linguistic analysis on two textbooks ? an English author?s book and a Czech author?s book. Questionnaire focuses on comparison of texts with and without images. In the end will be linguistics result with questionarie compare.

Abstract:

Tato práce se věnuje vztahu obrázku a textu. Především je řešena otázka, jestli může obrázek pomoci k lepšímu porozumění textu, popř. jak může obrázek ovlivnit srozumitelnost textu. Tato problematika je zkoumána na textech učebnic, přičemž jsou aplikovány dvě různé metody. Pomocí lingvistické analýzy učebnic jsou srovnávány texty ze dvou učebnic od českého autora a od německého autora s ohledem na vztah srovnáván obrázku a textu a srozumitelnost textu. Dotazník se orientuje na srovnání srozumitelnosti textu s obrázkem a bez obrázku.
