Development of the Valdice Prison between 1948-1968

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce předkládá obraz věznice Valdice v období prvních dvaceti let komunismu v Československu. Nejprve jsem se pokusila nastínit politickou situaci, která v daném období byla. Dále jsme se zaměřila na vývoj trestního práva a justice. Navazuje kapitola o táborech nucených prací a změnách vězeňství. Samostatnou kapitolou je věznice Valdice, kterou jsem zpracovala na základě archivního i jiného materiálu a odborné literatury. Celou diplomovou práci uzavírá kapitola o vězněných ženách a mladistvých. Diplomová práce je doplněna o obrazovou přílohu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis presents prison Valdice during the first twenty years of communism in Czechoslovakia. Firstly, I tried to outline the political situation at that time. Further, I focused on the development of penal law and justice. Next chapter deals with forced labour camps and changes in prison system. The chapter about prison Valdice, as the individual part of the diploma thesis, is based on the material which I compile in terms of archive and other materials and special literature. The whole diploma thesis concludes the chapter about imprisoned women and the young. The diploma thesis is completed with hooked illustration.
