Comparison of Business Letters in English and Czech Language

Abstract:

Ve své závěrečné práci „Srovnání obchodních dopisů v anglickém a českém jazyce“ se zabývám čtyřmi nejčastějšími typy obchodní korespondence, a sice na poptávku, nabídku neboli reakci na poptávku, objednávku a reklamaci. Práce je členěna na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části se věnuji dodržení základních didaktických dokumentů, které jsou nutné pro výuku obchodní korespondence. V praktické části uvádím konkrétní rysy korespondence v anglicky psaných dopisech, důležitost správně volených slov a rozdíly mezi oběma jazyky. U všech čtyř typů dopisů přikládám vzory inspirované příručkou britského autora.V závěru se zmiňuji o současném trendu obchodní korespondence a jeho úskalích.

Abstract:

In my final thesis Comparison of business letters in English and Czech language I am dealing with four most common types of business correspondence namely inquiry, offer, order and complaint. The work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part.In the theoretical part I devote to keeping of basic didactical documents, which are necessary for teaching of the subject Business correspondence. In the practical part I state concrete features of correspondence in English written letters, the importance of correctly chosen words and differences between both languages. I enclose four types of letters as examples inspired by a handbook of an British author.At the end I am taking into account a current trend of business correspondence and its pitfalls.
