Rediscovery of modular synthesizers by Bastl Instruments collective from Brno
Abstract:
Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá subkulturou českého "bastlení" s modulárními syntetizátory. Práce shrnuje vývoj komunity lidí okolo modulárních syntetizátorů z dob, kdy si je každý domácí kutil vyráběl doma, kvůli trhu, který byl velmi omezený, až k lidem, kteří to mají v současné době jako živobytí. Bakalářská diplomová práce si klade za svůj cíl vytvořit komplexní náhled do této subkultury.
Abstract:
The following bachelor's thesis aims to present the subculture of Czech emulation of modular synthesizers. It summarizes the development of the community concerned with modular synthesizers over the times when musicians built their own synthesizers at home because of the limitation on then-market in Czechoslovakia, until nowadays - the emergence of people who make their living building synthesizers …more
