Competence of teaching assistants and their influence on attitudes towards pupils with disabilities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem "Kompetence asistentů pedagoga a jejich vliv na postoje vůči žákům s postižením" se zaměřuje na problematiku sociální distance a vnímání osob s postižením ze strany asistentů pedagoga. Cílem práce je zjistit vztah mezi proinkluzivně didaktickými kompetencemi a sociální distancí asistentů pedagoga k lidem s postižením a zjistit jaký vliv má stupeň vzdělání na tyto kompetence. Teoretická část se věnuje definicím a rozdílům mezi asistentem pedagoga a pedagogem, kvalifikacím asistentů pedagoga, kompetencím a postavení asistenta pedagoga ve výchovně - vzdělávacím procesu. Empirická část popisuje kvantitativní výzkum, který proběhl na běžných základních školách ve Středočeském kraji, a jeho výsledky, které byly získány dotazníkovou metodou. Závěrečná část se věnuje interpretaci výsledků, doporučení pro praxi a další výzkumy.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis with the title "The competences of pedagogical assistants and their influence on the attitude towards handicapped pupils" focuses on the problematics of social distance and the perception of handicapped people from the view of pedagogical assistants. The aim of the thesis is to discover the relation between pro-inclusion didactic competences and the social distance of pedagogical assistants towards handicapped people and to find out how the education degree influences these competences. The theoretical part is dedicated to definitions and the difference between pedagogical assistants and teachers, the qualifications of pedagogical assistants, their competences and position in the educational process. The empirical part describes the quantitative survey which was carried out at primary schools in Central Bohemia and its results obtained by the questionnaire method. The final part is dedicated to the interpretation of results, the recommendation for the practice and other surveys.
