Abstract:

Astrid Varnay patří mezi přední světové operní pěvkyně, zvláště pak zaměříme-li se na interprety oper Richarda Wagnera. Jedná se o operní pěvkyni známou nejen v Americe, ale také po celé Evropě. Práce mapuje život a kariéru Astrid Varnay, která působila na scéně dlouhých 55 let. Cílem je na základě rešerše literatury zdokumentovat její pěveckou dráhu a osobní život. Téměř všechny zdroje týkající se této pěvkyně jsou v německém či anglickém jazyce, tudíž je tato práce prvním uceleným zdrojem informací o Astrid Varnay v jazyce českém. V teoretické části naleznete soupis informací týkajících se jejího života a studia. Další část je věnovaná jejímu působení, a to od prvního debutu až po pozdní pěveckou kariéru, a také problematice změny hlasového oboru, která je v pěveckém světě velmi neobvyklá. Konkrétně pak přechodu ze sopránového oboru do oboru mezzosopránového z pohledu pěvecké techniky. V poslední kapitole se dočtete o jejím pedagogickém působení a uměleckém odkazu.

Abstract:

Astrid Varnay is one of the world's leading opera singers, especially if we focus on the performers of Richard Wagner's operas. She is an opera singer known not only in America but also throughout all of Europe. This bachelor thesis maps the life and career of Astrid Varnay, who worked on the scene for a long 55 years. The aim of this work is to document her singing career and personal life based on a literature search. Almost all sources related to this singer are in German or English, so this work is the first comprehensive source of information about Astrid Varnay in the Czech language. In the theoretical part, you will find a list of information about her life, studies, and a description of her work from her first debut to her late singing career. The practical part is devoted to the issue of changing the vocal field, which is very unusual in the singing world. Specifically, the transition from the soprano field to the mezzo-soprano field from the point of view of singing technique. In the last chapter, you will read about her pedagogical work and artistic legacy.
