Večerníček at the transition from classic to digital animation on the example Pat and Mat and Bob and Bobek series

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá dvěma nejrozšířenějšími animačními technikami – klasickou loutkovou a klasickou kreslenou animací, které jsou využívány ve speciálním formátu programu České televize Večerníček. Na příkladech animovaných seriálů Pat a Mat…A je to! a Bob a Bobek, natočených těmito technikami, práce sleduje, jak od 70. let až dodnes zasáhly změny režimu, vývoj techniky, proměny televizního vysílání a modernizace snímacích technologií do výroby obou seriálů. Práce rovněž zaznamenává, zda se přechod z analogového na digitální snímání výrazně projevil na výsledných produktech, a to jak v oblasti estetické, tak ve vlivu na produkci, a také dopadem na popularitu a sledovanost obou seriálů.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the two most popular animation techniques - classical puppet stop-motion animation and classical cartoon draw animation in the special format of Czech Television broadcast for children Večerníček. On the example of the animated series Pat and Mat and Bob and Bobek shot by these techniques, the thesis finding out how from the 1970s until today, regime changes, technology development, TV broadcast transformations, and modernization of used technologies have hit the production of both of the series. It also finding out, if the transition from analogue to digital animation capturing have had changed the resulting products. In terms of aesthetic and visual changes of the final product, in terms of production and in repercussion on the popularity and audience of both series.
