Holocaust in Czech Professional Literature during the Period 1945 to 1958

Abstract:

V práci dochází k analýze odborné literatury včetně odbornějších vzpomínkových publikací s tématem holocaustu, případně druhé světové války, které vyšly v letech 1945–1958. Analýzou těchto pramenů dochází ke sledování vývoje přístupu k holocaustu v odborném diskurzu během prvních poválečných let a následně během období výrazného ovlivnění publikační činnosti režimem komunistické strany. K dosažení výsledku je použita metoda analýzy politiky dějin, nebo jak je označována v německém prostředí geschichtspolitik. V závěru dochází k zařazení dosažených výsledků do kontextu politických událostí, které mohly danou problematiku ovlivnit.

Abstract:

The thesis analyzes professional literature including more professional commemorative publications regarding the Holocaust, eventually World War II, which were published in the period of 1945–1958. Through the analysis of these sources, the development of the stance on the Holocaust in the professional discourse during the first post-war years is observed as well as during the subsequent period of significant influence on publishing activities by the Communist Party regime. To achieve the result, the politics of history analysis method is used, also known as geschichtspolitik in the German environment. Finally, the achieved results are placed in the context of political events accordingly which may have influenced the subject matter.
