Anti-money landering in banks

Abstract:

In my thesis I would like to present the legal expressions in connection with money-laundering. I am going to touch upon some special Hungarian features and I would like to give a detailed analysis of the fight of banks against these activities.I am going to include the concept of money-laundering, its phases and well-known methods. I would also like to demonstrate what kind of measures the banks can take against money-laundering. The main concerns of my thesis are: internal regulators, trainings, expectations and possible sanctions against bank employees. As bank management considers the prevention of money-laundering activities as a priority, it expects the same of its employees as well. These activities are more common with those financial organisations which are more flexible and lenient.All suspicious transactions should be submitted to cautious investigation. We should be extremely careful as no one can be considered guilty until it has been proven by the court of justice.

Abstract:

V mojej odbornej práci by som rada predstavila právne formulácie, v súvislosti s praním špinavých peňazí, poukázala na špecifickosť v Maďarsku, a rada by som detailnejšie analyzovala boj bánk proti tejto činnosti. Poukážem na pojem prania špinavých peňazí, v rozdelení na fázy, a rada by som analyzovala všetky doteraz spoznané a objasnené techniky. Informujem o prostriedkoch bánk, ktorými disponujú ohľadom zabránenia prania špinavých peňazí. V rámci bakalárskej práci oboznámim interné predpisy, školenia, očakávania a možné sankcie voči zamestnancom bánk. Vedenie a manažment banky pokladá za veľmi dôležitú úlohu preventívnu činnosť ohľadom prania špinavých peňazí, a to očakáva aj od všetkých svojich zamestnancov. Často sa o pranie špinavých peňazí pokúsia v takých finančných inštitúciách, ktoré sú viac ohľaduplnejšie a „flexibilnejšie” od ostatných. Každá transakcia, ktorá vyzerá byť podozrivá, musí byť veľmi detailne preskúmaná. Musíme byť veľmi obozretní, pretože za vinného sa nesmie pokladať nikto, pokým to nestanoví právoplatné rozhodnutie súdom.
