Importance of a cros-border cooperation for communities and towns

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá významem přeshraniční spolupráce v euroregionu Nisa a jejím vlivem, který ukazuje především na příkladu aktivit obcí a měst. Hlavním cílem bylo ukázat, co přináší do území Libereckého kraje přeshraniční spolupráce a jak se do projektů zapojují aktéři v území. K dosažení cíle práce byly využity rešerše odborné literatury a další dostupné zdroje. Závěrem je zjištění, že přeshraniční spolupráci na území Libereckého kraje je věnována maximální pozornost ze strany samotného kraje a vedení euroregionu. Navíc má Liberecký kraj své zastoupení v Bruselu a je patrné aktivní zapojení odborníků. Po vyhodnocení zjištěných informací bylo formulováno doporučení, aby obce a města v rámci přeshraniční spolupráce své aktivity více koordinovaly. Přispělo by to k vyšší efektivnosti pro větší části území a byla by zajištěna návaznost na strategický plán kraje.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the importance of cross-border cooperation in the Nisa Euroregion and its impact which is demonstrated mainly on the example of municipalities and towns. The main objective was to show what the cross-border cooperation brings to the territory of the Liberec region and how local actors participate in the projects. To accomplish the goal of the thesis, research of literature and other available sources was made. The main conclusion of the thesis is that the cross-border cooperation on the territory of the Liberec region enjoys the utmost attention of the regional authority itself as well as of the Euroregion management. Moreover, the Liberec Region has its representation in Brussels and active involvement of experts is evident. Based on the analysis of gathered information, a recommendation to the municipalities and cities to coordinate their cross-border cooperation activities more closely has been formulated. Closer cooperation would contribute to greater efficiency for larger areas, and a follow-up to the strategic plan of the region would be ensured.
