The Quality of Life of severely disabled Individuals

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá subjektivním vnímáním vlivu tělesného postižení na život jedince, zejména na jeho soběstačnost, začlenění do společnosti, mezilidské vztahy. Teoretická část představuje typy tělesných postižení, vysvětluje pojmy jako je zdraví, nemoc. Přibližuje vývoj přístupu společnosti k jedincům s tělesným postižením, vliv tělesného postižení na psychiku jedince, dotýká se také bariér, kompenzačních pomůcek, rehabilitace i sociální péče a služeb. Poslední kapitola teoretické části vymezuje pojem kvality života, zabývá se důležitými součástmi kvality života - vztahy v rodině i širší společnosti, politikou zaměstnanosti a seberealizací osob s postižením. V praktické části je provedena analýza vlivu tělesného postižení na kvalitu života z uskutečněných rozhovorů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with our subjective perception of the impact of physical disabilities on individuals' lives, in particular, their self-sufficiency, social integration and interpersonal relationships. It is written in two parts. The theoretical part introduces the types of physical disability and explains concepts such as health and illness. It describes the development of society's approach to individuals with physical disabilities, the effect of such disabilities on an individual´s psyche, and also looks at architectonic barriers as well as barriers to communication between people with and without disabilities, mobility aids, rehabilitation and social care services. The last chapter defines the concept of quality of life, deals with important components of quality of life such as relationships in the family and wider community, employment policy, and self-realization of individuals with disabilities. The practical part of the thesis presents insights into the impact of physical disabilities on the quality of life, gained from real-life interviews.
