Analysis of IS MU Readiness for SCORM Implementation

Abstract:

Výuka pomocí e-learningových nástrojů tvoří důležitou součást standardního vzdělávacího procesu studentů v prezenční a především v kombinované či celoživotní formě studia. Přenositelnost již vytvořených studijních materiálů mezi informačními systémy je logickým vyústěním tohoto trendu. Nezbytným předpokladem pro vypracování diplomové práce je podrobné seznámení s referenčním modelem SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) a se strukturou e-learningových objektů v Informačním systému Masarykovy univerzity (dále jen IS MU). Hlavním cílem je však následné provedení analýzy možností a úskalí implementace SCORM do IS MU na základě pochopení vlastností SCORM a IS MU. Popis vlastností, které jsou v jednotlivých modelech navíc, je nedílnou součástí analýzy, včetně specifikace nutných rozšíření na straně IS MU. Součástí diplomové práce je i průzkum v oblasti používání e-learningových materiálů dle referenčního modelu SCORM na ostatních vysokých školách v České republice.

Abstract:

Teaching with the usage of e-learning tools is one of the important parts of the standard procedure of learning, not only for the full-time study mode but mainly for the combined form and lifelong learning. This trend leads to the portability of created study materials between different information systems. When creating this diploma thesis I had to familiarize myself with two necessary preconditions: reference model SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) and the structure of e-learning objects in the Masaryk University Information System (IS MU). But the main goal of this thesis is the further analysis of possibilities of implementing SCORM to the IS MU with respect to the comprehension of SCORM and IS MU properties. The description of the extra features included in the models is the inseparable part of the analysis, including the specification of necessary extensions in the IS MU. The essential feature of the diploma thesis is also the survey in the field of using the e-learning materials with respect to the SCORM model at the other universities in the Czech Republic.
