SELECTED CHAPTERS OF THE HISTORY OF MILITARY MEDICINE IN 19. CENTURY -MILITARY HOSPITAL IN JEVÍČKO

Abstract:

Předložená práce se zabývá fungováním hlavních vojenských nemocnic za napoleonských válek. Jako modelový příklad posloužila Hlavní vojenská nemocnice číslo 39. Tato nemocnice se nacházela ve městě Jevíčku, které bylo součástí opatovického panství. V úvodní části práce je vylíčena historie opatovického panství na sklonku 18. a počátku 19. století. Tento exkurz do dějin panství Opatovice byl nezbytný pro lepší nastínění vztahů místního obyvatelstva, magistrátu města a vrchnosti k hlavní nemocnici. Základní metodou bylo zasazovat do obecného-teoretického rámce konkrétní příklady z praxe. V práci se tak poukazuje na četné rozdíly mezi předpisy a skutečnou praxí uvnitř nemocnice. Pozornost je tu věnována i rakouskému vojenskému zdravotnímu systému obecně. Rakouská zdravotnická služba je v práci srovnávána se zdravotnickými systémy jiných zemí (Francie, Rusko). Komparační metoda umožňuje na daný problém (péče o raněné vojáky) nahlížet z více stran. Zároveň srovnání poskytlo možnost poukázat na existenci většího množství vojenských zdravotnických systémů. Zároveň jsou v práci nastíněny i specifika rakouských lékařských služeb poskytovaných přímo na bitevním poli

Abstract:

This work is concerned with the operating of the main military hospitals during the Napoleonic wars. As an example served the Main military hospital no. 39. This hospital was located in Jevíčko, which was part of the county of Opatovice. The introduction contains history of the county of Opatovice at the end of the 18th century and at the beginning of the 19th century. This insight into the history of the county was necessary for better understanding of the relationships between the local population, a town council and the authorities towards the main hospital. The essential method was putting the examples from real life into the common-theoretical context. Therefore this work refers to many differencies between the prescripts and the real work experience. Whole Austrian military hospital system was taken into the consideration. The Austrian medical services are compared to the services of other countries, namely France and Russia. This commparing method enables to look at the issue (medical care for the wounded soldiers) from many different points of view. Simultaneously, the comparing allowed to show and describe the existence of more military medical systems. Also there are outlined the specifics of the autrian medical services provided directly on the battlefield
