The Geography of industrial plant Thun 1794 a.s.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o charakteristice společnosti Thun 1794 a. s., zejména se zaměřuje na průmyslový závod Thun 1794 a. s. Nová Role, který je zároveň sídlem celé společnosti. Prvním krokem pro zpracování práce bylo stanovení cílů, promyšlení metodického postupu a zhodnocení stěžejní literatury, ze které bylo čerpáno. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí, teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část charakterizuje Správní obvod Karlovy Vary, ve kterém je závod lokalizován. Vybrané kapitoly vystihují souvislosti mezi závodem a SO ORP Karlovy Vary s ohledem na přírodní zdroje, průmysl, obyvatelstvo, trh práce a dopravu. Praktická část se vztahuje k samotné porcelánce v Nové Roli a zkoumá jednotlivé složky závodu od počátků výroby až po současné hospodaření. Část práce je zaměřena na mapování významu závodu v rámci České republiky, Karlovarského kraje a SO ORP Karlovy Vary. Zmíněné jsou zde i vlivy závodu působící na své okolí, ať již negativně, či pozitivně.

Abstract:

The Bachelor's thesis is about the characteristic of the company Thun 1794 a. s. It especially focuses on the industrial plant Thun 1794 a. s. Nová Role, which is the seat of the whole company. The first step for processing of this thesis was setting the targets, rethinking methodological approaches and assessment of flagship literature from which it was drawn. The thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical and the practical ones. The theoretical part describes the administrative district of Karlovy Vary, where the plant is located. Selected chapters describe the connection between the plant and the district of municipalities with extended competence of Karlovy Vary with respect to natural resources, industry, population, labour market and transport. The practical part is related to the porcelain factory in Nová Role itself and examines particular components of the plant from the beginning of the production to the current economy. This part of the thesis is focused on charting the importance of the plant in the Czech Republic, the Karlovy Vary region and the district of municipalities with extended competence of Karlovy Vary. There is also mentioned the influence of the plant on its environment, both negative and positive.
