Payment cards and their prospects

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce „Platební karty a jejich možnosti“ je pohled na vývoj platebních karet z historického hlediska, současnosti a zejména možností a podmínek jejího dalšího rozvoje. V první části se zabývám historickým vývojem vzniku platebních karet, jejich rozvojem a vybudováním jednotlivých platebních resp. kartových systémů. Dále mapuji historický vývoj v USA, v některých evropských zemích, a také vývoj v ČR. Ve druhé části práce se zaměřuji na obecné vymezení platebních karet dle základních parametrů jejich dělení. Třetí část bakalářské práce je zaměřena na aktuální situaci, na výhody a nevýhody, které platební karty svým vydavatelům a uživatelům přinášejí, s přihlédnutím na rizika z užívání a vydávání platebních karet vyplývajících. Na závěr této části se snažím o zhodnocení stávajících podmínek v České republice, za nichž se budou platební karty a jejich používání rozšiřovat.

Abstract:

The goal of my theses „Payment cards and their possibilities“ is a historical and present outline of payment cards, especially potential and conditions of their progress. In the first part you can find a historical progress of it’s origin, development and creating of a particular payment or more precisely cards systems. Moreover I map historical porgress in the U.S.A., in some of the European countries including the Czech Republic as well. There is a general definition of payment cards according to a basic characteristics in the second part. The third part is focused on current situation, advantages and disadvantages related to a card issuers and users of payment cards, with a respect to lability of it’s issuing and using. In the end of the final part I am trying to evaluate existing conditions on which payment cards and it’s using will extend in the Czech Republic.
