The Influence of vacuum therapy in the form of cupping on trigger point therapy

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá formou vakuoterapie, přesněji baňkováním a jeho vlivu a na svalové trigger pointy. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zjistit, zdali vakuoteapie formou baňkování aplikovaného přímo na místo svalového trigger pointu může ovlivnit jeho bolestivost a případně pomoci v terapii těchto bodů. V teoretické části jsou popsány základní poznatky o problematice vzniku, progresi a obecných možnostech terapie trigger pointů, stejně tak je shrnuta teorie o historii, vývoji a postupech baňkování v dnešní době. Výzkumné části se zúčastnil soubor 15 dobrovolných probandů (s průměrným věkem 54 let), kteří byli specificky vybrání pro své sedavé povolání. Dále jsou ve výzkumné části popsány jednotlivé kroky měření spolu s přístrojem Rebox a termokamerou VarioCam? HD, které byly pro ověřování hypotéz použity. V závěru práce jsou pak prezentovány výsledky společně s jejich analýzou a následnou komparací jednotlivých měření mezi sebou.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the form of vacuumtherapy, more precisely with cupping and its influence on muscle trigger points. The main target of this work was to find out whether cupping applied directly to the muscle trigger point can affect its soreness and possibly help in the therapy of these points. The theoretical part describes the basic knowledge of the origin, progression and general possibilities of trigger point therapy, as well as the theory of the history, development and procedures of cupping nowadays. The research section was attended by a set of 15 voluntary probands (with an average age of 54 years) who were specifically selected for their sedentary occupation. Furthermore, the research part describes the individual measurement steps together with the Rebox and the VarioCam? HD thermal camera, which were used for the verification of hypotheses. In conclusion, the results are presented together with their analysis and subsequent comparison of individual measurements among themselves.
