Bankruptcy models in the Czech Economy

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Bankrotní modely v podmínkách české ekonomiky“ si klade za cíl zhodnotit predikční schopnost Altmanova Z-score, indexu IN05 a Beaverova modelu. Modely jsou aplikovány na soubor 100 českých podniků, z nich polovinu tvoří bankrotní a polovinu prosperující podniky, a to v průběhu 5 let. Zdrojem dat pro výpočet bankrotních modelů byly účetní výkazy zkoumaných podniků. V práci je hodnocena schopnost včasného varování před bankrotem a schopnost modelů predikovat finanční zdraví podniku. Výsledné hodnoty jsou analyzovány pomocí procentního vyjádření a statistických veličin. Vyšší predikční schopnost byla zjištěna u modelu IN05.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis "Bankruptcy models in the Czech Economy" aims to evaluate the predictive ability of Altman Z-score, index IN05 and Beaver model. The models are applied to a set of 100 Czech, of which half are bankrupting businesses and half are prosperous businesses, over 5 years. The data for the calculation of the default models were examined financial statements of companies. The work deals with the evaluation of the ability of early warning models from bankruptcy, and the ability of models to predict the financial health of the company. The resulting values are analyzed by using a percentage and statistical variables. Higher predictive ability was found in the model IN05.
