Abstract:
Zástupci rodu Plasmodium napadají různé druhy obratlovců od plazů, ptáků až po savce. Výjimkou nejsou ani lidoopi. V této práci byla vypracována literární rešerše zabývající se historií výzkumu malárie od jejího objevení, životním cyklem malárie, výskytem malárie u lidoopů a především metodami diagnostiky této nemoci. Abstract:
Different vertebrate groups such as reptiles, birds and mammals, are infected by parasites from the genus Plasmodium. Great apes are no exception. A literature review related to the history of malaria research, the malaria life cycle and the presence of malaria in great apes, with an emphasis on invasive and non-invasive malaria diagnostic methods, is drawn up in this thesis.
