Succession strategy in a family company via strategic partnership with a financial investor

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou rodinných firem, zejména plánování nástupnictví v rodinných firmách a konkrétně pak řešením otázky nástupnictví prostřednictvím vstupu finančního investora. Cílem diplomové práce je na základě analýzy podnikatelského prostředí v České republice simulovat proces řešení otázky nástupnictví v rodinné společnosti prostřednictvím vstupu finančního investora typu private equity fondu a vyhodnocení úspěšnosti této strategie na historických příkladech. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. První část, ve které je zpracovaná odborná literární rešerše s vysvětlením základních pojmů, zároveň přináší ucelený pohled na danou problematiku a napomáhá k jejímu pochopení. V druhé části je pak nasimulován proces řešení otázky nástupnictví v rodinné společnosti a analyzován vývoj vybraných firem po akvizici finančním investorem zastoupeným fondy typu private equity.

Abstract:

This thesis is dealing with the issues of family enterprises succession through financial investor entry in particular. The goal of the thesis is to simulate the process of dealing with the issue of equity fund financial investor succession in family businesses and its fruitfulness based on historical examples based on enterpreneurial enviroment analysis in Czech republic. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part comes with a literary research explaining basic terms and brings wholesome perspective helping its understanding. The second part simulates the process of dealing with the issue of family succession in a family enterprise and analyses the evolution of chosen firms after the acquisition by financial investor represented by private equity fund.
