Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci se věnuji tématu memento mori. V teoretické části písemné práce se věnuji významu výrazu memento mori a jeho výskytu ve vizuálním umění. Dále se věnuji technice pâte de verre a provádím rešerši inspiračních zdrojů, které nějakým způsobem ztotožňuji se svoji práci. Na začátku praktické části popisuji svoji předchozí práce a jejich vliv. Dále představuji koncept a krátce popisuji vlastní proces realizace. Konečným výsledkem je skleněná figura mého dospělého těla se vzorem šatu z dětství, které jsem nosila ve věku, kdy jsem si začala uvědomovat, co jest smrt.

Abstract:

In my master thesis I deal with the expression memento mori. In the theoretical part of the thesis, I deal with the meaning of the phrase memento mori and its occurrence in visual art. Furthermore, I discuss the technique of pâte de verre and conduct a search for sources of inspiration that I identify in some way with my work. At the beginning of the practical part, I describe my previous works and their influence. I then introduce the concept and briefly describe the actual process of realization. The result is a glass figure of my adult body with a pattern of a childhood dress I wore at an age when I began to realize what is death.
