The thesis attempts to explain the narrative of the evolution of the UK Conservative Party's stand towards the European integration. The special focus is placed on the mainstream of conservative thinking in relation to the integration as it has been represented by the different party's leaders throughout the time. Táto práca sa pokúša vysvetliť príbeh vývoja vzťahu britskej Konzervatívnej strany k európskej integrácii. Špeciálny dôraz je kladený na hlavný prúd európskych postojov strany predstavovaných straníckym lídrom. Zvláštna pozornosť je venovaná "zlomovým obdobiam", počas ktorých dochádzalo k ideovým posunom v rámci strany.
