View of children from educational institutions and low-threshold clubs on the intervention process

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the problems of the individuals with behavioural problems and the work with these individuals. However, it does not restrict its view only to the educational institutes and other educational facilities for children with special needs, but also looks at the non-profit sector, namely low-threshold clubs. The first chapter discusses the development of the child in adolescence from the perspective of psychology. The focus is mainly on the social, emotional and moral development, which is the most complicated area for ethopedics. The first chapter is also devoted to behavioural deficits at the given age and the resulting specificities of the individuals with behavioural disorders or individuals placed in institutional care. The end of the chapter contains an analysis of the quality of life of the individuals with behavioural problems, and as a result provides one of the possible views of the children with behavioural disorders. The second chapter is devoted to schools and their ethopedic activities. The most important part is dual approach to the individuals with behavioural disorders - 3R and 3P, and a reflection on which approach is more preferred at present. The third chapter presents the problem of risk individuals from the perspective of the non-profit organizations, which also provide some type of support and intervention in the direct environment of the child, namely the low-threshold clubs for children and youth. The aim of the research part was to compare perceptions of the intervention process from the perspective of the child in the two different types of facilities. It was anticipated that the children in the segregated settings of the educational institutions would be more dissatisfied, while there would be preferences for the club, because they support the individuals in their natural environment, during their leisure time. The research has confirmed all the hypotheses and thus that children are not satisfied with the interventions in the educational institutions and they miss their family, from which they have been separated. On the other hand, the low-threshold clubs have great potential in working with the youth at risk. Of course it should be noted that the research findings apply only to the studied sample (110 children from the educational institutions and low-threshold clubs). A broader research, carried out with a much larger sample of the population, would yield more accurate results.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa venuje problematike jedincov s poruchami správania a prácou s týmito jedincami. Do popredia však nestavia výchovné ústavy či iné špeciálne-výchovné zariadenia ale aj neziskový sektor, konkrétne nízkoprahové kluby. Prvá kapitola pojednáva o vývoji dieťaťa v adolescentnom veku z pohľadu psychológie. Dôraz je kladený najmä na sociálny, emocionálny a morálny vývoj, ktorý je pre oblasť etopédie najsťaženejším. Takisto sa prvá kapitola venuje poruchám správania v danom veku a z toho vyplývajúcim špecifikám jedincov s poruchami správania či umiestneným v ústavnom zariadení. V závere kapitoly sa venujeme kvalite života jedincov s poruchami správania, čo prináša jeden z pohľadov na deti s poruchami správania. Druhá kapitola sa venuje školským zariadeniam a etopedickej činnosti v školských zariadeniach. Najdôležitejšou časťou je dvojaký prístup k jedincom s poruchami správania - 3R a 3P a uváha o tom, ktorý z prístupov je preferovanejší v súčasnosti. Tretia kapitola naopak prezentuje problematiku rizikových jedincov z pohľadu neziskových organizácií, ktoré tiež poskytujú určitý druh podpory a intervencie v priamom prostredí dieťaťa a to konkrétne nízkoprahové kluby pre deti a mládež. Cieľom výskumnej časti bolo zrovnať vnímanie intervenčného procesu z pohľadu dieťaťa v dvoch odlišných typoch zariadeniach. Predpokladom bola nespokojnosť detí v segregovanom prostredí výchovných zariadení a naopak preferencie klubu pretože podporujú jedinca v prirodzenom prostredí cez voľný čas. Výskum nám potvrdil všetky hypotézy a tým aj to, že deti sú nespokojné s intervenciou vo výchovných ústavoch a majú obrovský deficit po odlúčenej rodine. Naopak nízkoprahové kluby majú veľký potenciál v práci s ohrozenou mládežou. Samozrejme treba dodať, že závery výskumu sa vzťahujú iba na skúmanú vzorku (110 detí z výchovných ústavov a nízkoprahových klubov). Presnejšie výsledky by však priniesol výskum realizovaný na omnoho väčšej vzorke populácie.
