Comparison of younger and older generation speech in Jemnice and surroundings

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Srovnání mluvy mladší a starší generace v Jemnici a okolí“ se zaměřuje na problematiku užívání nářečních prvků. Prvním cílem této práce je zjistit, do jaké míry starší generace společnosti v Jemnici a jejím okolí používá nářeční prvky ve své běžné mluvě. Výsledky od starší generace budou srovnány s výsledky bakalářské práce (Slovní zásoba mladé generace v Jemnici), kde bylo zjištěno, že mladší generace preferuje spíše spisovný jazyk namísto dialektů. Tím bude naplněn hlavní cíl práce. První část práce se zaměřuje na vztah mezi dialektem a českým jazykem obecně. Největší pozornost je věnována českomoravské nářeční skupině, speciálně pak jemnické podskupině. Praktická část porovnává výsledky výzkumu z bakalářské práce s dotazníkovým šetřením od respondentů z jemnického regionu, kteří jsou starší 50 let. Výsledky mohou být využity lidmi, kteří se zajímají o dialekt a mluvu v jemnickém regionu.

Abstract:

The Master´s thesis “Comparison of younger and older generation speech in Jemnice and surroundings” deals with the problematic of using dialectal elements. The first aim of this thesis is to determine if dialectal elements still used by older generation. All data are linked to Bachelor´s thesis (The vocabulary of the young generation in Jemnice), which presents the finding that younger generation prefers formal language instead of dialectal one. This will fill the main aim of this thesis. The first part of this thesis is concerned with the relationship between a dialect and Czech language in general. The greatest attention is devoted to the dialect of Bohemian-Moravian region, especially to the dialect of Jemnice´s subgroup. The practical part compares the result of research from my Bachelor´s thesis with the questionnaire survey answered by volunteers from Jemnice´s region, who are over 50 years old. The results can be used by people who are interested in a dialect and the vocabulary in Jemnice´s region.
