Internal Medicine Nurses' Wound Care Awareness

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku péče o ránu a zjišťuje úroveň znalostí sester, které pracují na interních pracovištích, v této oblasti. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část zpracovává nejen odborné poznatky a informace v oblasti léčení ran, ale také postupy při ošetřování defektů z pohledu sestry. V praktické části jsou zpracována data získaná pomocí kvantitativní metody výzkumu, dotazníkového šetření, od 128 respondentů. Dotazník obsahoval položky demografické a vědomostní, výzkumný soubor tvořily sestry pracující na interních odděleních. Na základě zvolených cílů bylo zjištěno, že úroveň informovanosti sester o péči o ránu je spíše průměrná. Dále průzkum ukázal, že jsou pouze minimální rozdíly v informovanosti mezi sestrami, které dříve pracovaly na chirurgickém pracovišti a sestrami, které na chirurgickém pracovišti nikdy nepůsobily. Ani rozdíly mezi sestrami pracujícími ve fakultní nemocnici a nemocnici nefakultního typu nebyly prokázány. Bylo ovšem zjištěno, že s rostoucí dobou praxe a rostoucím vzděláním roste také míra informovanosti sester o péči o ránu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of wound care and awareness of internal medicine nurses‘ in this area. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals not only with professional medical knowledge and information in the field of wound healing but also the procedures of treating wounds from the perspective of the nurse. The practical part investigates the level of knowledge in nurses, using a quantitative research method, questionnaire survey, from 128 respondents. The questionnaire contained demographic and knowledge items, and the research sample consisted of nurses working in the internal unit. Based on the chosen goals, it was found that nursing awareness about wound care is rather average. Further, the survey showed that there are only minimal differences in awareness among nurses who previously worked at the surgical site and nurses who never worked at the surgical site. Even the differences between the nurses working in the university hospital and the non-faculty hospital were not proven. However, it has been found that with increasing practice and growing education, nurses' awareness of wound care is also increasing.
