Activities and mental processing with psychotherapeutic potential in the creation and perception of a conceptual work of art

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the psychotherapeutic potential of a conceptual work of art with an action background. The method used in this work is art-based research. I reflect the processing in art creation on the basis of my own creative experience which is supported also by literature in the field of psychology (emotion regulation, exposure therapy, symbol in therapy, art therapy) and in the field of art based research. I estimate the requirements the creative process should fulfill in order to transform and to lead to knowledge.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca pojednáva o psychoterapeutickom potenciáli konceptuálneho diela s pozadím akčnej tvorby. V práci je použitá metóda výskumu v umeleckej praxi. Cez svoju vlastnú tvorivú skúsenosť reflektujem procesy, ktoré prebiehajú pri tvorbe, pričom sú podložené odbornou literatúrou z okruhov psychológie (regulácia emócií, expozičná terapia, symbol v psychoterapii, arteterapia), a z oblasti výskumu založeného na umeleckej praxi. Týmto spôsobom vymedzujem požiadavky, ktoré by tvorba mala spĺňať, aby mala transformujúci potenciál a viedla k poznaniu.
