Coping strategies for managing life situations of parents of children with physical disabilities

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá strategiemi zvládání využívanými rodiči dětí s tělesným postižením. Jejím cílem bylo reflektovat strategie zvládání životní situace rodičů dětí s tělesným postižením. Teoretická část zpracovává teoretická, empirická a metodologická východiska práce pro výzkumnou část a v jednotlivých kapitolách vymezuje tělesné postižení u dětí, povinnosti, potřeby a podporu rodičů a strategie zvládání životní situace. Výzkumná část navazuje na teoretické poznatky a jejím cílem bylo zjistit, jaké strategie rodiče pro zvládání nastalé životní situace využívali nebo využívají. Pro výzkum byla využita kvalitativní výzkumná strategie, kde se pomocí techniky polostrukturovaného rozhovoru získala dále analyzovaná data.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on coping strategies used by parents of children with physical disabilities. It aimed to reflect on the coping strategies of parents of children with physical disabilities. The theoretical part elaborates the theoretical, empirical and methodological background of the thesis for the research part and defines the physical disability in children, the responsibilities, needs and support of parents and coping strategies in each chapter. The research section builds on the theoretical findings and aimed to identify what coping strategies parents have used or are using to deal with the life situation. A qualitative research strategy was used for the research where a semi-structured interview technique was used to obtain further analysed data.
