Perceptions of fear and stress in preschool children

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem vnímání strachu a stresu dětmi předškolního věku. Skládá se z teoretické a praktické části. V teoretické části nalezneme vymezení fenoménů, způsoby jejich vnímání a zpracovávání nejen u dětí. Druhý úsek teoretické části je zaměřen na interpretaci a pochopení strachu a stresu. Orientuje se na porozumění projevů strachu a stresu a jejich příčin. Třetí část pak popisuje interpretaci dětské kresby. Do výzkumu byl vybrán vzorek šesti dětí z brněnské soukromé školky. S dětmi byly vedeny rozhovory doplněné o úkol nakreslit, jak stres vypadá. Analýze těchto rozhovorů a obrázků se věnuje část praktická.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of preschool children's perception of fear and stress. It consists of a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part we can find the definition of phenomena, ways of its perception and processing not only by children. The second section of the theoretical part focuses on the interpretation and understanding of fear and stress. It focuses on understanding the manifestations of fear and stress and their causes. The third section then describes the interpretation of children's drawings. A sample of six children from a private kindergarten in Brno was selected for the research. Interviews were conducted with the children, supplemented by a task to draw what stress looks like. The analysis of these interviews and pictures is the focus of the practical part.
