Abstract:

Diplomová práce přibližuje důležitá fakta o historickém vývoji a vzniku tabákového průmyslu a s ním úzce propojené historie reklamy. Přináší náhled do některých dosud málo známých vývojových stádií těchto oblastí a zároveň vysvětluje vzájemnou spojitost reklamy a tabákového průmyslu, kdy záměrem v konečné fázi je ovlivnění spotřebitele bez ohledu na negativní dopady kouření na jeho zdravotní stav. Cílem práce je poukázat na skutečnost, že i kouření lze specifikovat jako závislost, kterou je třeba léčit a to nejen s ohledem na zdravotní rizika, které s sebou přináší, ale také vzhledem k vysokým finančním nákladům na léčbu nemocí způsobených kouřením. Zároveň práce vysvětluje i principy psychologického působení reklamy především na nezletilého potenciálního spotřebitele. V konečném efektu vede k pochopení záměru reklamních společností a tabákového průmyslu. Pro zjištění faktů byla použita nejen historická a také všeobecně dostupná a známá fakta, ale také metoda dotazníkového šetření, zaměřena na širokou spotřebitelskou veřejnost. Toto šetření přineslo mnohá zajímavá zjištění. Na základě výsledků dotazníků se zjistilo, že opravdu kuřáků je mezi mladou generaci více. Mladší generace je válcována reklamou a postupem času stále více. Tabákové průmysly vědí na koho se zaměřit, aby měli dlouholeté zákazníky.

Abstract:

The present diploma thesis brings important facts of the origin and historical development of the tobacco industry and the closely related advertising history. It provides insight into some hitherto little-known stages of development of these areas while explaining the correlation between advertising and tobacco industry whereby the ultimate- stage intention is to affect consumers regardless the negative effects of smoking and their health. The thesis aims at highlighting the fact that also smoking should be characterised as an addiction that needs to be treated, not only with regard to the health risks that come with it, but also because of the high financial cost of treating diseases caused by smoking. At the same time the thesis explains the principles of the psychological effect of advertising especially on minor potential consumers. Finally it leads to understanding the intent of advertising companies and the tobacco industry. For fact-finding not only historical, widely available and known facts were used but also a questionnaire survey method focused on the mass consumer. The survey yielded many interesting findings. The questionnaire results revealed that there is really more smokers among young people. Over time the young generation is getting more and more affected by the influence power of advertising. In the long term and in view of its need to maintain a sufficient number of customers, the tobacco industry, applying highly realistic reasoning, has been drawing its attention to ever younger target individuals.
