Augmented reality as an extension of human senses in epistemological context

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tím, jak rozšířená realita pracuje s našimi smysly a jaký to má vliv na naše celkové vnímání reality. Nejprve se věnujeme krátkému historickému diskurzu příchodu digitálních technologií, neboť jakožto tvůrci nové reality jsou v tomto ohledu podstatní. K tomu využijeme teorii od Marshalla McLuhana, který tvrdí, že média jsou extenzí člověka. Dále se zabýváme interakcí mechanického a organického, tedy dialogem mezi jednotlivými smysly a rozšířenou realitou. Tento problém ukážeme na konkrétních aplikacích. Problematiku toho, jak je náš svět vidět skrze technologie zasadíme do souvislosti epistemologie.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is deal with how augmented reality works with our sences and how it affects our overall perception of reality. First of all we deal with a short historical discourse of coming digital technologies because they are important as creators of the new reality. We use the theory of Marshall McLuhan, who claims that the media are extensions of man. Next, we deal with the mechanical and organic interaction, that means the dialogue between individual senses and the augmented reality. We show this problem on specific applications. The issue of how our world can be seen through technology is to be put into the context of epistemology.
