Nontraditional approaches to strings usage in music performances at the turn of 20th and 21th century
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá otázkou, co všechno dnes můžeme považovat za strunu. Zmíněnou problematiku sleduje především v kontextu některých vybraných zvukových instalací hudebních performerů Jona Rose a Gordona Monahana, působících na přelomu 20. a 21. století. Mimo to obsahuje také kapitoly, zabývající se historií strun a jejich kmitáním.
Abstract:
This bachelor work is focused on the question of what can be considered as a string today. The above issue is pursued in the context of some chosen sound installations from music performers (Jon Rose, Gordon Monahan), acting on the turn of the 20th and 21th century. In addition it also contains chapters dealing with the history of strings and the theory of their oscillation.
