The Benefits of Field Assistance Services for Socially Vulnerable Families

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na přínos Terénní asistenční služby u sociálně ohrožených rodin. Teoretická část uvádí vymezení, vývoj a specifika terénní sociální práce včetně jejich výhod a nevýhod. Zaměřuje se na sociální služby, terénní sociální práci v kontextu zákona, podobu sociálně ohrožené rodiny, sociální prostředí a rizika jejího ohrožení. Konec teoretické části je věnován konkrétně Terénní asistenční službě, kde jsou zmíněny její cíle, zásady, oblasti zaměření a popis přímé práce s rodinou. Praktická část je vedena kvalitativním výzkumem, který se opírá o techniku polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s klienty Terénní asistenční služby. Nástrojem analýzy textu je otevřené kódování a k výstupu výzkumu povedou výsledky ze zakotvené teorie. Výzkum ukázal, že si klienti uvědomují přínos Terénní asistenční služby. Význam služby vidí především v jistotě, kterou jim služba poskytuje, v zodpovědnosti, ke které je služba vede, k pokroku, který udělaly a v důvěře. Přínos byl nalezen také v podpoře, jež pociťují a v získaných zkušenostech. Dále výsledky potvrdily, že většina klientů neměla žádná očekávání, ba naopak služba předčila jejich představy o spolupráci. Výjimkou byla odpověď poslední respondentky, která měla jasná očekávání. Jako nejpřínosnější činnost byla shledána sociálně terapeutická pomoc. Poslední výzkumná otázka přinesla odpovědi v návaznosti na odraz služby v životě klientů. Z odpovědí vyplynulo, že se služba odráží v podobě získaných zkušeností, osobnostním posunu a změny v přístupu a prožívání klientů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on contribution of field assistance service at socially vulnerable families. The theoretical part states definition, evolution and specific traits of field social work, including its benefits and down sides. It focuses on social services connected to field social work and it discusses field social work in regards to the law. Furthermore, it describes socially vulnerable families, social environment and the risks of social vulnerability. The end of the theoretical part is dedicated specifically to the field social service, its goals, its principles, areas of its focus on and a description of direct work with a family. The practical part contains qualitative research, which is based on semi structured interview with clients of the field assistance service. The tool for text analysis is open coding and the grounded theory results will lead to the research output. Female respondents found the meaning, particularly in the assurance that the service provides, in the responsibility that the service guides towards, and in progress regarding the trust they accomplished. The respondents also value Terrain Assistance Service's support and the experience they gained by themselves. In addition, the majority of respondents share the absence of expectations. On the contrary, the cooperation exceeded any possible ideas. The exception was the answer of the last respondent, who had a clear image of the form of cooperation. Social therapeutic assistance was found to bet he most beneficial activity. The last research question sheds light on the service's influence on clients' lives. It was apparent from the answers that the outcome of the service lies in gained experience, personal development and the shift in perception and approach towards the life of clients.
