The Restoration of the Wall Painting The Triumph of the Christianity over the Paganism in St. Vitus Church in Makov

Abstract:

Praktická část bakalářské práce se zabývá restaurováním nástěnné malby na severní stěně presbytáře kostela sv. Víta v Makově. Jedná se o nástěnný obraz od Mikoláše Alše z roku 1900 umístěný v iluzivním rámu. Bakalářská práce obsahuje restaurátorský průzkum a vlastní restaurování malby. Její součástí je fotografická dokumentace, která dokládá jednotlivé etapy restaurátorského zásahu a výsledky technologických analýz. Teoretická část bakalářské práce je zaměřená na osobnost Mikoláše Alše a skupinu figurálních kostelních maleb v okolí Litomyšle, jejichž tvůrci byli Alšovými spolupracovníky. Na základě dostupných informací bude popsán stručný historický vývoj objektů, v nichž se malby nacházejí a okolnosti jejich vzniku. Malby budou zdokumentovány fotograficky.

Abstract:

The practical aspect of this work deals with the restoration of the mural painting on the north wall of the presbytery church St. Vitus in Makov. It is a wall painting by Mikoláš Aleš from 1900, to be found in the illusive frame. This bachelor work includes both restoration research and restoration painting. It includes photographic documentation, which demonstrates both the various stages of restoration work and results of the technological analysis. The theoretical part is focused on the personality of Mikoláš Aleš and a group of figurative paintings in churches around Litomyšl, whose creators were Aleš´s colleagues. Based on the available information, a brief history describes of the objects in which the paintings are located and the circumstances of their creation. The paintings will be documented photographically.
