Manipulative Behavior of Leisure Teachers

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu manipulace v pedagogice volného času. V teoretické části popisuji význam pojmu manipulace, znaky manipulace, druhy manipulativního ovlivňování, manipulační strategie, dopady manipulace na osobu, která je jejímu vlivu vystavena a rozdíl mezí manipulací, persvazí a motivací. Popisuji také volný čas dětí a mládeže, funkce výchovy ve volném čase, zařízení, ve kterých se volnočasová výchova v České republice uskutečňuje nejčastěji a lidi, kteří s dětmi v jejich volném čase pracují. Práce upozorňuje na problém neprobádanosti tématu a nedostatku pozornosti věnované manipulaci v pedagogice. V praktické části popisuji kvantitativní výzkum, jehož cílem bylo zjistit, zda se u pedagogů volného času vyskytuje manipulativní jednání. Protože jsem manipulaci zaznamenala, mohla jsem hledat souvislosti mezi manipulací, mírou vzdělání, pohlavím a délkou praxe respondentů. Zjistila jsem, že muži v prostředí volnočasové pedagogiky manipulují více než ženy. Respondenti s praxí kratší a rovnou 16 rokům manipulují více než respondenti s delší praxí. Výsledky vlivu vzdělání na manipulaci byly nejasné a bylo by vhodné toto odvětví prozkoumat pozorněji. Popisovaný výzkum byl proveden formou dotazníkového šetření v říjnu roku 2023. Zúčastnilo se ho 85 respondentů, kterými byli pedagogové volného času a vychovatelé z České republiky. Ve stanovených kategoriích byla většina respondentů ženského pohlaví a měla praxi v oboru kratší než 16 let.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis is focused on the topic of manipulation in leisure pedagogy. In the theoretical part I describe the meaning of the term manipulation, the signs of manipulation, types of manipulative influence, manipulative strategies, the impacts of manipulation on person who is exposed to its influence and difference between manipulation, persuasion and motivation. I also describe the leisure time of children and young people, the functions of leisure education, the institutions in Czechia where leisure education is most often realized, and the people who work with children in their leisure time. The thesis highlights the problem of unexplored topic and the lack of attention to manipulation in pedagogy. In the practical part I describe quantitative research which wanted to find out whether manipulative behaviour occurs among leisure educators. The manipulation was discovered, so I was able to look for associations between manipulation, education level, gender and length of experience of respondents. I discovered that in leisure pedagogy males manipulate more than females. Respondents with less experience and equal to 16 years manipulate more than respondents with longer experience. Results of the effect of education on manipulation were unclear and it would be useful to explore this sector more closely. The research was realized by questionnaire in October 2023. 85 respondents, who were leisure educators and tutors from Czechia, participated. In the specified categories, the majority of respondents were female and had less than 16 years of work experience.
