The history and the present of the singing choir Janáček

Abstract:

Diplomová práce mapuje boskovickou hudební kulturu od 2. pol. 19. stol. s důrazem na počínající činnost hudebně-zpěvních spolků, na jejichž základu vznikl smíšený pěvecký sbor Janáček. Poukazuje na více než 150letou tradici sborového zpěvu na Boskovicku. Je vhledem do historie smíšeného pěveckého sboru Janáček, rovněž se pak zabývá novějšími dějinami a jeho aktivitami v současnosti. Zpracovává všechny dostupné informace v zachovaných kronikách sboru, pracuje s archivními záznamy a uvádí svědectví žijících pamětníků sboru. Podstatná část práce je věnována sbormistrům smíšeného pěveckého sboru Janáček. Jsou zde uvedeny jejich osobní a profesní životopisy, jejichž rozsah závisí nejen na množství zpráv v archívech, kronikách, tisku a monografiích, ale též na v případě žijících osob souhlasu s mírou publikovaných informací. Práce obsahuje biografické statě o sbormistrech, o nichž s výjimkou Františka Lindy neexistuje ani jedna publikace. Součástí této diplomové práce je také přiložený seznam provedených skladeb za celou dobu činnosti sboru, seznam jeho členů v současné době, přehled všech sbormistrů a skladeb významných hudebních skladatelů věnovaných smíšenému pěveckému sboru Janáček. Všechny tyto údaje jsou pak obsaženy v přílohovém aparátu práce.

Abstract:

The thesis describes the musical culture of Boskovice region since the second half on 19th century with emphasis on the initial activities of musical and vocal ensembles, on which bases the mixed singing choir Janáček was established. It refers to more than 150 years long tradition of choir singing in Boskovice region. The thesis further employs the insight into the origins and history of the Janáček choir and it deals also with its contemporary activities, which are always stated in chronological order. It compiles all available information found in the choir chronicles with archival sources and it also brings some evidence provided by the choir living witnesses. The main part of this thesis is focused on the conductors of Janáček mixed choir. It gives more detailed personal and professional data which extend depends on the number of found information and sources, and in case of still living poeple on their consent with publishing only a certain amount of information. However, these biographical data form an important and valuable asset of this thesis because there are no publications about those conductors with the exception od František Linda. In the appendices to this thesis find enclosed a list of all the compositions performed by Janáček choir, a list of all its contemporary members and both the past and contemporary conductors and accompanists. And above all there is also a list of the compositions dedicated to Janáček choir by some outstanding composers.
