Role of the prison guards and how it influences their private lifes

Abstract:

Práce je teoretická a klade si za cíl popsat prostředí věznice, jakožto místo, které samotné působí a formuje jedince v něm. Dále pak vysvětlit rolové hry, které se odehrávají za zdmi totální instituce, v našem případě ve věznici. Diplomová práce se zabává rolovými hrami, které se odehrávají v extrémních situacích a vychází z teorie rolí. Práce bude s pojetím role pracovat kriticky, neboť pojetí role je dnes v mnohém považováno za zastaralé. Přesto je pojetí role zajímavé z hlediska aplikace a porozumění rolových pozic aktérů a jednání lidí v prostředí totální instituce. Práce vychází z předpokladu Michela Foucaulta, že aby mohlo docházet k rolovým hrám a jimi přidělenými hierarchickým statusům, musí docházet k vzájemné interakci mezi aktéri. Tato interakce je v totální instituci nutná a žádoucí. Východiskem práce bude popis teorie rolí, její reflexe a možnost aplikace ve vězeňství.

Abstract:

The work is theoretical and aims to describe the environment of the prison, to make a place that has an influence and shapes individuals in it. This work should explain role playing games that take place behind the walls of a total institution, in our case in prison. The diploma thesis deals with playing role games that take place in extreme situations and based on role theory. The thesis will work critically with the concept of the role, because the concept of the role is today considered obsolete in many ways. Nevertheless, the concept of the role is interesting in terms of application and understanding of the role position of actors and actions of people in the environment of a total institution. The work assumes of Michel Foucault that for the role playing and the hierarchical statuses assigned to them to occur, there must be mutual interaction between the actors. This interaction is necessary and desirable in a total institution. The starting point of the work will be a description of role theory, its reflection and the possibility of application in prisons.
