Simulator of web browsing for cyber exercises

Abstract:

This work is about the implementation of the user Web browsing simulation tool. The start of the work summarises the current status of the solution and justification for the needs of the simulator in KYPO. In the theoretical part of the work sets out the requirements for this tool and information about testing and limitations of pre-existing environments for Web browsing. This tool provides an option to simulate Web browsing similar to those performed by users using a browsing scenario. There are four functions that can search Web with search engines, sign in to a secure page, identify page navigation, and move to other sub-pages. It also provides the ability to control multiple simulators from one place. The simulator saves time on cyber exercises, thanks to the fact that it can replace a group of people who would otherwise have to perform a simulation scenario manually.

Abstract:

Táto práca sa zaoberá implementáciou nástroja na simuláciu pre hliadania webu užívateľmi. V úvode práce je zhrnutý momentálny stav riešenia a zdôvodnenie potreby simulátora v KYPO. V teoretickej časti práce sú stanovené požiadavky na tento nástroj a informácie o testovaní a obmedzeniach už existujúcich prostredí na prehliadanie webu. Tento nástroj poskytuje možnosť za pomoci scenára simulovať úkony na webe podobné tým, ktoré vykonávajú užívatelia. K dispozícií sú štyri funkcie, ktoré dokážu vyhľadávať za pomoci webových vyhľadávačov, prihlásiť sa na zabezpečenú stránku, identifikovať navigáciu stránky a presúvať sa na ďalšie podstránky. Taktiež poskytuje možnosť ovládania viacerých simulátorov z jedného miesta. Simulátor umožňuje na bezpečnostných cvičeniach šetriť čas, a to vďaka tomu, že dokáže nahradiť skupinu ľudí, ktorí by inak museli vykonávať scenár simulácie ručne.
