Influences of antique sculpture in work of J. V. Myslbek and his pupils.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na odhalování a objevování antických prvků v sochařské tvorbě Josefa Václava Myslbeka a jeho žáků Quida Kociána, Josefa Mařatky, Jana Štursy, Otakara Španiela A Břetislava Bendy. Teoretická část diplomové práce obsahuje stručné životopisy vybraných autorů, spolu s vybranými díly, kde je antický vliv zcela patrný. Zvolila jsem ta díla, ve kterých se antický vliv odráží námětem, formou, nebo obojího.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on identifying and discovering classical Greek and Roman elements in the sculptures of Josef Vaclav Myslbek and his pupils Quido Kocian, Josef Maratka, Jan Stursa, Otakar Spaniel and Bretislav Benda. The theoretical part of the thesis contains brief biographies of the selected artists together with their selected works, where the influence of classical sculpture is most apparent. I chose sculptures in which is the classical influence reflected in theme, form or both.
