Introductory Analyses for New Generation of Railway Information Systems

Abstract:

This thesis deals with railway information systems in the environment of the Czech Republic and near abroad. These include information systems of all kinds that are used in the context of railway transport. Examples range from a mobile application for ticket purchase to a dispatching system for remote traffic control in stations and sections between them. The main objective of the thesis is to present the possibilities of building a new generation of information systems for railways. The first part of the thesis describes the current state of railway information systems in the Czech Republic from the perspective of the infrastructure manager as well as the perspective of a passenger. On the basis of own on-site research, the systems in Hungary, Austria, Germany and Poland are also evaluated. Using the aggregated knowledge and insights, a total of 6 proposals are presented for use in building a new generation of customer systems for railways. The thesis also describes the theoretical foundations of speech synthesis and assesses in detail the potential use of current Text-to-speech tools for train station announcement systems.

Abstract:

Táto práca sa zaoberá železničnými informačnými systémami v prostredí Českej republiky a blízkeho zahraničia. Medzi ne radíme informačné systémy všetkého druhu, ktoré sa využívajú v kontexte železničnej dopravy. Príklady siahajú od mobilnej aplikácie na nákup lístkov až po dispečerský systém pre diaľkové riadenie dopravy v staniciach a úsekoch medzi nimi. Hlavným cieľom práce je predstaviť možnosti budovania novej generácie informačných systémov na železnici. V prvej časti práce sú popísané súčasné reálie železničných informačných systémov v Česku, a to z pohľadu správcu infraštruktúry a z pohľadu cestujúceho. Na základe vlastného prieskumu na mieste sú hodnotené aj systémy v Maďarsku, Rakúsku, Nemecku a Poľsku. S využitím agregovaných poznatkov a vedomostí je predstavených spolu 6 návrhov využiteľných pri budovaní novej generácie zákazníckych systémov na železnici. Práca taktiež popisuje teoretické základy syntézy reči a detailne hodnotí možnosti potenciálneho využitia súčasných Text-to-speech nástrojov pre systém staničných hlásení.
