Empirical analysis of Okun’s law in Iceland
Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá empirickou analýzou Okunova zákona na Islandu. Je zde testována Okunova hypotéza o negativním vztahu reálného produktu a míry nezaměstnanosti na dvou verzích modelu, přírůstkové a gapové, s využitím OLS odhadů. Při odhadu gapové verze jsou navíc využity 2 filtrační metody, Hodrick-Prescottův a Baxter-Kingův filtr. U všech verzí se ukázal vztah mezi těmito veličinami jako slabý …more
Abstract:
This thesis deals with empirical analysis of Okuns law in Iceland. Okuns hypothesis of negative relationship between real GDP and the rate of unemployment is being tested on two models, difference and gap, using OLS estimation.
