Self-concept of Sexual Deviants

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo postihnout jednotlivé složky sebepojetí sexuálních deviantů, zachytit jejich vztah k sobě sama a sociálnímu okolí. Výzkum byl realizován ve věznici v Kuřimi na 32 sexuálních delikventech a 31 pachatelích majetkových trestných činů. Jako výzkumné nástroje autoři použili sebeposuzovací škálu a provedli se zkoumanými osobami rozhovor. Základní hypotéza výzkumu předpokládala rozdíly ve struktuře sebepojetí mezi zkoumanými vzorky, především ve faktoru Morální a sociální hodnocení. Rozhovor se zabýval určitými charakteristikami v průběhu dětství a dospívání odsouzených, jejich interpersonálními vztahy a prožíváním. Bylo zjištěno,že sexuální devianti dosáhli signifikantně nižších skórů ve faktorech Morální a sociální hodnocení a Sebejistota - tendence prosadit se. Analýza rozhovoru neprokázala odlišnosti v anamnestických údajích mezi vzorky zkoumaných osob. Poukázala však na negativnější prožívání a sebehodnocení sexuálních deviantů ve vztah k sobě sama i spáchanému trestnému činu ve srovnání s kontrolní skupinou.

Abstract:

The basic aim of the study was to grasp the single elements of self-concept of sexual deviants and to comprehend their relationships to themselves and their social environment.The research was realized in the prison of Kuřim with 32 sexual delinquents - research group and 31 perpetrators of the offense against property - control group. As the research methods, the authors used self-evaluating scale and made interview. The main research hypothesis expected the differences in the structure of self-concept between both samples, especially in the factor Moral and social self-esteem. The interview was concerned with the characteristics of childhood and maturity of the convicts, their interpersonal relationships and feeling. The results showed lower scores of the sexual deviants in the factor Moral and social self-esteem and Self-assurance - tendency to assert one-self. The analyze of the interview did not proof any differences in anamnestic data between the samples. But on the other hand, it found out, that sexual deviants s self-esteem and feeling about them-selves and the crime they commited are more negative in comparison with control group.
