Business valuaation and its share price movement prediction research

Abstract:

Téma této disertační práce je: "Oceňování podniku a výzkum predikce pohybu cen jeho akcií". Cílem práce je aplikování Markovových řetězců ke stochastickému modelování krátkodobé predikce pohybu cen akcií a použitelnost těchto predikčních modelů pro aktivní obchodování na akciových trzích. Práce je rozčleněna do tří částí. V první části se práce jsou stručně popsány přístupy, které jsou používány k oceňování akcií (podniku). Ve druhé části je popsána metodika výzkumu včetně dat, na nichž je výzkum prováděn. Ve třetí nejrozsáhlejší části práce jsou popsány jednotlivé modely, na modelech splňujících zvolená kritéria jsou definovány obchodní strategie a pro tyto strategie je spočítáno dosažené zhodnocení, které je porovnáváno s pasivní obchodní strategií.

Abstract:

The topic of this dissertation is "Business valuation and its share price movement pre-diction research". The aim of this paper is application of Markov chains to stochastic modelling of short-term prediction of share price movement and applicability of these prediction models for active trading at share markets. The paper is divided into three parts. The first part is dedicated to the concise description of approaches which are used for valuations of (business) shares. The second part describes the research methods in-cluding the data the research has been carried out with. The most extensive third part is focused on the description of particular models. On the models which meet the chosen criterions the trading strategies are defined and for these strategies the achieved revalua-tion is calculated, which is in addition compared to a passive business strategy.
