Abstract:
Fágová terapie využívá bakteriofágy, tedy viry, které jsou schopné usmrtit bakteriální buňky. Mezi výhody této metody patří vysoká specifita fágů, díky které nedochází k poškození přirozené mikroflóry, jejich nízká toxicita a schopnost množit se v místě infekce. Pro bezpečné použití fágové terapie je nezbytná znalost genomu fágů, jejich ekologie a molekulárního mechanismu antibakteriálního účinku. …more

Phage therapy utilizes bacteriophages, which are viruses capable of killing bacterial cells. The advantages of this method include a high specificity of phages resulting in no damage of the natural microflora, their low toxicity and ability to proliferate at the site of infection.
