Communication and Negotiations of Local Government of the Liege Town in the 17th Century (on the Example of Lipník nad Bečvou)

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje fungování samosprávy moravského poddanského města Lipníku nad Bečvou v období mezi lety 1600-1680. Jednání městské obce je analyzováno za pomoci zápisů z jeho zasedání. Pozornost je zaměřena na jednotlivé aktéry jednání, jeho formální průběh a na diskutovaná témata. Prostřednictvím korespondence je studována komunikace městské samosprávy s vnějšími aktéry, a to s ohledem na korespondovaná témata, účastníky korespondenční komunikace a její geografické ukotvení. Cílem je postihnout změny v jednání městské obce i ve struktuře korespondenční komunikace s vnějším světem v delším časovém horizontu. Proto je provedeno srovnání doby před třicetiletou válkou, v jejím průběhu a poválečné obnovy.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the activities of local government in moravian liege town Lipník nad Bečvou between years 1600-1680. Negotiations of the town community is analyzed through the records from their sessions. The attention is focused on participants of negotiations, conventions of meetings and discussed topics. The communication of local government with the subjects from outer world is studied through the preserved correspondence, the emphasis is put on the topics of correspondence, its participants and geographic aspects. The most important aim of the thesis is explanation of changes in negotiations of town community and the structure of correspondence communication in longer time period. For this reason the periods before the Thirty Years´ War, within the conflict and after-war restoration are comparised separately.
