Počet kópií chromozómov je dôležitý údaj určujúci integritu genómu a je dôležitý pre prenatálny skríning po oplodnení in vitro. eV posledných rokoch sú k dispozícii nové výpočtové techniky, ktorými je možné stanoviť počet chromozómov.
