Netopýr Alkathoe (Myotis alcathoe) a netopýr Brandtův (Myotis Brandtii) byli až donedávna považováni za poddruh (nebo formu) netopýra vousatého (Myotis mystacinus) a status samostatného druhu získali relativně nedávno. Alcathoe Bat (Myotis alcathoe) and Brand’s Bat (Myotis Brandtii) had been until recently considered a sub-species (or form) of Whiskered Bat (Myotis mystacinus) and were proclaimed a sovereign species relatively recently.
